Who We Are
We are a family owned dog grooming service dedicated to making each grooming experience a positive one. That starts with competence, patience, and morale. I first started grooming in February 2017 when I was trained onsite at a no-kill animal shelter to take over for the director and groomer of 30+ years and was retiring. Being trained where there were many dogs who were pulled off the kill lists at high kill shelters and puppy mills, I worked with dogs who were anxious, traumatized, un-socialized, terrified, and reactive. I have the experience and patience needed to increase acceptance, and tolerance in anxious, fearful, and insecure dogs. I am dedicated to preserving the mental and emotional well-being of every dog and boosting their confidence so they don’t see only negative in what should be a routine part of their life. My husband Dennis and I lived onsite as caretaker and groomer for three years before deciding to start a mobile grooming business in Papillion, NE servicing Sarpy and Douglas counties. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to establish relationships with so many amazing K9 companions and their families.
In April 2022 our grooming vehicle caught fire and was a total loss. It got us a free helicopter ride to Lincoln where I spent 104 days in St. Elizabeth Burn Unit. We decided to relocate to Lincoln and offer our grooming solutions to Lincoln’s K9 companions. We do not have a mobile grooming vehicle at this time, but plan on building one in the near future. Until then we offer grooming services in our home, or in your home if we can have access to a tub (or a sink for littles) and a place to set up our table that is fairly easy to clean up hair (garage, basement, master bath, yard if nice out…). We have flexible and extended appointment times, 7 days/week from 10:00-8:00.
Services are provided in Lancaster County, Sarpy County, and Douglas County. At Loyal Companion we will care for your beloved companion as if they were ours and treat them with compassion, patience, and kindness.
